Chickens

Chickens typically live to be anywhere between 5 to 10 years old. Male chicks grow up to be roosters, while the females become hens. Chickens live in a group called a flock, and the chickens in that flock will establish a “pecking order” of dominance among themselves. This is how the chickens determine who’s “in charge” in their flock. Many people believe that chickens are flightless birds, but that’s not entirely true. Chickens can actually fly short distances.

Pictured to the right is one of our many lovely chickens, Snow.
